This disc has a less aggressive start performance than a rigid disc due to its torsion springs. Torsion springs function as a vibration damper between engine and gearbox, allowing for a wider release window in 1st gear similar to the original disc. It makes this disc more suitable for street applications, while the sintered metal plates or pucks make it ideal for race and track use.

This SACHS Torsion Sprung Racing Disc includes sintered metal plates have a higher friction coefficient than plates with organic friction material. That allows higher transmittable torque and makes the disc more dirt and oil resistant. It is assembled by hand, which guarantees the highest quality attributes both in terms of clamping load and release characteristics. Also, this disc can transmit higher torque, so it is ideal for those looking for a longer lasting stock replacement or for cars that are tuned, modified or raced.
