Description
FVD Software works perfectly on any 1996 993 U.S. model DME (Digital Motor Electronics, more commonly referred to as ECU). So, there's no need to purchase an expensive 1997 or newer DME. You may have noticed that many software developers exclude the 1996 DME. The reason behind this is that the 1996 model year DME EPROM could only be flash-loaded with software once, which was done at the factory. However, we have a seamless solution to program the 1996 DME.FVD-Brombacher has been setting the standard for Porsche engine building and tuning in Germany since 1984. Our extensive knowledge of the flat 6 Porsche engine has naturally led us to the development of engine management software. Over the years, we have perfected the art of software tuning, achieving significant gains in horsepower and torque, while maintaining drivability and, most importantly, reliability. Unlike many others in the industry, we solely focus on software for Porsche. This enables us to offer you the most refined, factory-smooth, and powerful aftermarket software product for Porsche.
POWERFUL – We adjust the ignition timing, optimize the air/fuel ratios, increase the rev limiter, and modify the boost mapping on turbocharged vehicles. Our custom-written programs are tailored to each vehicle's specific modifications. Whether you've upgraded camshafts, have a larger displacement, sport catalytic converters, sport exhaust systems, larger throttle bodies, or lightweight flywheels, our software can extract the maximum performance gains over what our competitors offer. Our carefully engineered software can deliver 10-25 horsepower and torque, depending on the car's modifications. Moreover, each layer of software enhances performance and the exhilaration you feel when driving your Porsche. We prioritize superior drivability to ensure that every moment behind the wheel is thoroughly enjoyed.
RELIABLE – All of the original equipment engine software safety features are left fully intact and are not disabled. So, you benefit from the added performance without sacrificing the reliability that the Porsche brand is renowned for. In addition, our software engineers have been writing software code for Porsche since 1984. They are trained by Bosch and Siemens in Germany, so you receive their factory expertise in writing software code for Porsche. Most importantly, our software engineers are committed to software tuning for Porsche only, so our sole purpose is to write the most polished Porsche software available in the industry.
ADAPTABLE – Our maps are designed to work in tandem with the sensor information of your vehicle. This means that regardless of differences in climate, altitude, throttle, exhaust gas temperature, and octane, our software will automatically adjust to provide you with superior performance while maintaining a factory-smooth feel. Additionally, the software is capable of accommodating different types of octane ratings, such as 93 Octane North American ((RON+MON)/2) and Rest of World (RoW) 95-104 (RON), by adjusting the timing and knock sensors accordingly.
GUARANTEED – 30-day money-back guarantee! If you are not satisfied with the performance, simply send back the DME and we will reset it to the original map, no questions asked.
FVD Brombacher - Power with peace of mind
VERY IMPORTANT! Please note that this software upgrade is exclusively for 1996 U.S. Models equipped with the Bosch M5.2 DME. You can verify this beforehand by checking the Bosch # 0261 203 008 that is printed on the outside of the DME (ECU). It is important that you send us the DME along with a complete list of modifications (if any) so that we can accommodate them. The typical turnaround time is 5-7 business days after we receive the DME. To remove the DME, please refer to the multimedia tab for instructions. In the dyno graph, you can observe the difference between a stock 993 running 93 Octane (dotted line) and the same 993 with an FVD tune (solid line). PS represents horsepower and Nm represents torque. If your car has undergone significant modifications and you have any special requests or concerns, please reach out to us in advance. This will allow us to determine whether we can accommodate your requirements.
