Description
This long tube header set is made for those who already have an FVD Brombacher Edition Sport Muffler (Sound Version or TÜV) like BES98705000S or BES987C5000S for example. This set of headers produces gains of + 20 HP (14.9 kW) and + 19 TQ (25 NM) which is double the conventional design and are the most powerful set of headers one can buy on the market. This header set is manufactured by M&M Exhaust, GmbH in Germany. They manufacture a multitude of Porsche Motorsport, Race Exhausts and Street Exhausts. Each system is tested comprehensively for exhaust gas scavenging, flow velocity, thermal stress, cracking and longevity. M&M exhausts have competed in and won hundreds of 24-hour races over the years including Nürburgring, Le Mans, Dubai, Daytona to name a few. When you purchase these headers, you are the benefactor of all that Porsche racing experience. If you are looking for an exhaust product that can handle abuse at the track, look no further. How are these headers different to the competition you ask? M&M manufactures in Germany and uses the highest-grade German V2A - X5CrNi18-10 - 1.4301 (T-304 L) light weight stainless steel. They start with a laser cut, stainless steel, dual plated primary flange which is more labor intensive to manufacture. M&M's race experience with thick, single plated flanges warping with age, heat and vibration lead to costly performance losses which prompted them to engineer a more reliable design. Their double plated flange allows for greater thermal expansion which dissipates heat more efficiently, which equates to greater reliability on the track or street. Next, look at the hand ported primary inlets, again, this is a more labor-intensive method, but hand porting means more laminar flow which equates to greater exhaust gas velocity and more performance. The inlets lead us to the long tube, equal length primary tubing whose diameter is selected and designed specifically for your engine's displacement. Each primary tube is mandrel bent, segmented and purge TIG welded by hand. For those thinking, why aren't the primaries a seamless length of tubing like some others in the industry? Segmenting strengthens the primaries and prevents stress cracks commonly found with the competition's headers. M&M back purge TIG welds each joint which reduces carbide precipitation and means seamless internal welds for more laminar flow and greater performance. This primary design method has been proven over years of time under the toughest endurance racing conditions. But M&M didn't stop there, they made the longest tubing possible by extending the primaries outwards before leading back to the custom made, purge TIG welded, internally blended merge collector that smoothly transitions into piping that goes all the way back towards the muffler where the catalytic converters are located. M&M moves the 200 cell HJS High Flow (HF) Catalytics back towards the muffler inlets to create as much scavenging and velocity as possible to produce the most torque and horsepower possible on the smaller displacement flat-six motor. The difference between this design and conventional designs, where the catalytic converter is just behind the primaries on the header, is noticed in the low, mid-range and top end performance where smaller displacement motors need it most. The catalytic converters are made by HJS Emission Technology GmbH & Co.KG in Germany. They are nicknamed “HF” for their high flow rate and are double foil (winding of two flat and corrugated foils). The header ends with a hand ported outlet which is the same larger diameter that our sport mufflers are so that there is a seamless laminar exhaust flow for power.

We recommend new gaskets and hardware for installation, 2 Qty. part # 99611110755EQand 12 Qty. 99907507400. The existing sleeves from the FVD muffler need to be reused.
Please Note: The rear O2 sensors on these cars have enough length on the harness to accommodate this design, cutting or splicing is not necessary. We send simple instructions (or see the multimedia tab) so that you can unclip and extended the harness length from the fire wall. The sport cats on this system replace the original over axle pipes for reference. Sport headers are not C.A.R.B. certified (California) nor EPA certified. They are for Racing use only. We recommend FVD software tuning with the addition of sport headers, as stock tuning can cause the car far to rich. That can lead to raw fuel being dumped on the cats, which can lead to damage and premature failure. This is the perfect time to take advantage of our FVD Progressive Tuning Program, explained in our performance software option. And please don't forget, if you already have FVD performance software, this header purchase includes a free software update! Want to know more about our headers? Check the multimedia tab.
For those that don't have software, now is the perfect time to take advantage of our FVD Progressive Tuning Program, explained in our performance software options:
