Description
The 997.1 Turbo and 997.1 GT2 utilize a recirculation valve which is a vacuum-actuated valve designed to release pressure in the intake system when the throttle is lifted or closed (ie changing gears). This air pressure is re-circulated back into the non-pressurized end of the intake (before the turbo and after the mass airflow sensor). The design is critical to keep pressure in the system, but the OEM valve is manufactured in plastic and incorporates a rubber diaphragm that is prone to failure on vehicles running higher boost pressure (performance software). Once the OEM rubber diaphragm splits a loss of boost pressure is experienced and can be difficult to trace as a check engine light is not always present. As a preventative measure, FVD Brombacher recommends the Forge Piston Type Boost Recirculation Valve, which is a direct replacement for the OEM diaphragm type valve. The piston design provides greater longevity and can be upgraded with different springs to accommodate a wide range of boost pressures.Features:
