Description
When it comes to engine protection, original equipment (OE) paper filters are sufficient but they have high resistance to airflow due to their thickness and density which can decrease engine performance. On the other hand, BMC sport filtration systems provide better airflow and protection without compromising reliability. BMC sport filters are more streamlined and constructed with an outer epoxy-coated alloy mesh and internal cotton gauze layers that are soaked in low-viscosity oil. This method shields against fuel fumes and oxidation caused by humidity while allowing for better air permeability and more efficient filtration down to 7 microns, which helps keep engine oil cleaner. BMC conducts filtration tests according to international standards (ISO 5011) and their filters have a 98.5% filtering efficiency. In summary, when compared to OE and aftermarket dry air filters, BMC filters offer superior flow and engine protection.Features:
Higher Flow Rate
Greater Performance
More Efficient Filtration than Dry Sport Filters
Filters Down to 7 Microns
Engine Oil Stays Cleaner
Greater Durability
Developed for Motorsports
Specifically Designed for Porsche Air Boxes
Longer Engine Service Life
Fuel Savings
Serviceable*
BMC Sport Air Filters were originally developed in association with the Ferrari F1 team. BMC started producing its filters in 1973 and is one of the most recognized brands in the European automotive industry, they are also a member of the VDAT German Tuning Association and are trusted by Porsche for Supercars, GT models, and Racing Cars.
This filter is a direct replacement for original part numbers 993 110 327 00 and 993 110 327 01. Sold individually. 1 necessary per car.
Please note: A BMC sports filter is a direct replacement for the factory air filter. Also, there is a lot of misinformation about BMC sport filters fouling mass air flow sensors (MAFs). In the manufacturing process, the exact amount of oil is used, and we have never experienced this with a new filter since we opened in 1984. *In our experience, fouled MAFs are attributed to individuals over-oiling their filters after servicing/cleaning. In our opinion, more emphasis should be put on the benefit of longer engine service life (cleaner oil/engine) than a clean MAF sensor.
